More importantly in that last year, I have opened my eyes to a lot more than I ever really expected to see. Life keeps surprising me with new ideas on living and philosophies I hadn't considered before. When I was 17 my older sister and I sat down and talked about life for the first time ever and she told me I was "wise beyond my years." Four years later and I feel like that kid didn't really know much of anything though I realize that she was more right than I knew. The older I become, the more people I meet and the more people I realize stopped expanding too early. They seem to feel comfortable not knowing; following an idea is easier than creating one. I feel differently, as I NEED to expand because of human nature's endless curiousity. Yeah, I have goals like any other person but I also have an attraction toward knowing the unknowable: creation, death, unity of all things and the like.
I understand that I'm not the only one who thinks like that, but it's a bit upsetting to realize that most people would rather go through life's routine:
You're born
You go to school
You get a job
You get married
You have kids
You die
There's no comfort in that for me.
Now don't get me wrong, life is friggin amazing and there's not a moment where I am not excited for the next. I just don't understand why so many people never find that same satisfaction with life.
Either way, life is an interesting piece of time and I'm happy to experience it. In fact, that's exactly what I'll do for the rest of my life.
